Dateline – Las Vegas - 2009 WSOP Main Event…
Mark "Poker h0" Kroon was the first to bust out of this year’s main event. Kroon, one of Ultimate Bet’s featured pros, opened with a big raise under the gun on the very first hand of the tournament. The button, an Indonesian grocer by the name of Shelly Twang, called. Kroon thought he was golden with his As2c when the flop came 345 rainbow. He checked the flop and shouted a thunderous, "Yes!" when Twang said, "All-in." The only problem was Twang was holding 5d6d. Twang, who won her entry as part of squash growers promotion, had never played Hold’Em before and Kroon wish she had never started.
Five hands later Twang gave all of chips away to another Ultimate Bet pro, James "Krazy Kanunk" Worth when she again shoved on the flop holding 5d6d. Only this time the flop was AcAs8h with Worth holding the other two aces. After the hand this reporter tried to interview Twang, but soon discovered that the only English phrase Twang knows is "All-in." Her translator said that she had a psychic reading just before the tournament and was told that her lucky cards were 5d6d and those were the only cards she would play.
Kroon refused the interview and seemed incoherent as muttered something about "psychic bulls**t."
