Road Trip Yesterday 10-24-09

Decided to take a day off from poker and take a road trip with a few friends, we first went to jeffersonville Indiana to take a tour of the schimpff's confectionery. http://www.schimpffs.com/ this is a 118 year old candy store/museum and they make their own candy. The candy store/museum is still owned and operated by the same family. when we arrived the tour was just about ready to start, turns out people travel from all over the world just to visit this place. while we was there they made some red hots for us. and of course we was given samples. This is a great place to visit, they make every kind of candy you can imagine. the museum is full of over 100 year old candy tins and different collectibles, they even have over 100 year old candy machines that work. after watching the candy makers make red hots, which was really cool and by the way they use over 100 year old machines to make this candy, we went into the museum and looked at all the beautiful displays, we then went into the old fashioned dairy candy store, they have any kind of milk shake you want and they are all actually hand made, we all had a milk shake and picked out some candy and kettle pop corn and we was on our way. what a great time we had at this candy store/museum.

we then decided to go to the kentucky kingdom fright fest, we had never been there and thought this would really be cool. after arriving in louisville and finding kentucky kingdom it was like 40 degrees burrrr. when we go in we notice that they are making a thriller video they was inviting everyone to participate, this was really cool. there was gobblins and goons everywhere everytime you turned a corner it seemd like we was geting scared lol. we also noticed that kentucky kkingdom also had all their rides going, im like omg it's 40 flippin degrees lol. so we made our way around to one of the two haunted houses, the first one the line really wasnt bad at all, we didnt wait but maybe 10 minutes. so we was really expecting alot of different things in this and all we did was simply just walk by displays of people dressed up doing things to people, like cutting on someone and eating guts ets lol this wasnt scary at all lame lame lame lol. so the other haunted house (woods of the wicked) was on the other side of the park, imagine that.
so after we finally find it the line to get in to this was huge, we waited in line for over a hour. finally when we enter we find out this is a outside setting in a woods. the setup was cool but nothing scary you just simply walk along a path and different people have displays and they try to scare you. i guess the scariest was when this 6ft 5 in black man with a baseball bat came at us, yeah that was scary. and as we was leaving a guy pops out from no where with a chain saw lol
overall we had a great time, it actually felt good to take a day off from poker.
